Gold Hits new highs then falls back

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Gold prices fell from recent new highs this week after German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the Euro was in danger. Spot gold was around $1,207 an ounce having been as high as $1,219.

Smart individuals selling their gold jewellery were taking advantage of these new highs. The only issue they were facing was who to trust.

We spoke to Mrs Tucker a house Swindon who said “I sent my jewellery to one of those big name brands on TV and what a mistake. They sent me a cheque for a pathetic amount of money and they wouldn’t answer my calls. It took me over a month to get it back from them despite their promises”.

Fortunately Mrs Tucker then contacted Post Gold Get Cash. “I spoke to this really nice chap called Simon who runs the business. He explained what my things were worth and immediately offered me more than twice what the other company had. I agreed and couldn’t beleive it when the money was in my bank account the next day. Thank you Post Gold Get Cash”.

So if you are going to take advantage of the Gold price right now be careful who you trust. Remember Post Gold Get Cash are the Personal Gold Buyers.

Interview with a Director of Post Gold Get Cash

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Simon Fletcher, Director of Post Gold Get Cash, was interviewed recently about our Gold Buying Service.

When asked what makes Post Gold Gold Get Cash different he said “We are one of the few companies that will call you up and will discuss the valuation on the telephone with you. What you don’t want to do is deal with companies that just sent you a cheque, willy nilly”. This makes perfect sense (except the willy nilly bit).

Simon was asked whether jewellery is always melted down for scrap. He said “we will evaluate it and can pay you more than the scrap value by selling it through our retail outlet”.

Honesty and Integrity

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

There have been a series of news items mainly run by the BBC in relation to Postal Gold companies.
In general, and mainly due to wanting to find a news worthy angle, the TV and Radio news channels have been testing out the value of payments amongst some of the biggest players in the market.

Whilst it is true that the results were disappointing to say the least, (I would say scandalous) some firms paying as little as £1.34 per gram (see list)

• Cash My Gold – £1.34 per gram
• PostalGold.com – £1.48 per gram
• Money4Gold – £1.55 per gram
• Cash 4 Gold – £1.90 per gram
• Your Cash For Gold – £3.67 per gram
• GoldenOwl – £3.54 per gram
• Cash Your Gold Now – £4.00 per gram

It has to be pointed out that not all Post Gold firms’ should be tarred with the same brush.Posting yours jewelry and other items is actually a very good way of raising that extra cash, and the system is a well proven safe method.

Unfortunately the level of greed amongst some of the participants has led to an understandable, but disproportionate level of mistrust. There simply is no need for these people to pay such low prices.

Post Gold Get Cash.Co.Uk for example pay some of the highest prices in the market today.
Not only that but they always have a member of staff on hand who can be contacted to verify current prices and discuss any queries.

At Post Gold Get Cash.Co.Uk we positively encourage people to shop around and ask the awkward questions other postal gold firms refuse to answer. Remember it is money (all be it in another form) you are sending so please treat it with the same caution you would sending someone cash.

Trust is the number one issue in this industry and it genuinely upsets us when people rip off unsuspecting folk for the sake of a quick buck. Raising cash from unwanted jewelry is a great idea and sending it to Post Gold Get Cash.Co.Uk, is and should always be a pleasure.

In our business we are not all the same, some of us are here to help and give you all you deserve.

Simon Dawson.

Beware of poor service when selling gold online

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

At Post Gold Get Cash we sometimes are contacted by people who have been treated very badly by our competitors. In their frustration they mistake our name for similarly named firms. Below is an example of one we received this week.

The message is simple: only deal with trusted brands such as Post Gold Get Cash.

To The Managing Director, Postal Gold

I have contacted numerous times, but i was unable to speak to anyone directly, therefore i have had to leave recorded messages.

I require my 2 gold chains back immediately, as i need them back to be sold to a reputable jewellers, as i need this money for Christmas.

This experience of dealing with POSTAL GOLD has been a total nightmare, and i wish i had never sent my gold chains to your company.

Therefore, following advice from CONSUMERS DIRECT/TRADING STANDARDS, and under THE SALE OF GOODS ACT 1979 (AS AMENDED).

Postal Gold is in Breach of Contract…..not returning goods back on the due date.

The Law states that the date of posting an acceptance of an offer is the effective date of the contract………not when it is received. You re in beach of this , as i have not received my goods back within your timescale as you advertise.

I am consulting with Watchdog, and my legal consultant regarding this “THEFT”.
That is what you have done. You still have MY goods, AND YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TRUTHFUL OR HONEST.

I am a 73 year old widow, whom i feel has bee taken advantage of. This experience has made me very ill, and i feel stupid.

I trust that you will see the errors of your judgement, and re-imburse me just with my own goods back.

Yours stressfully

MC

Customers love our excellent service

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

At Post Gold Get Cash we are always pleased to get feedback from our customers. This one came in yesterday:

Just wanted to say thank you for your very polite and efficient service. I was very pleased with the valuation and the money arrived so quickly. Would recommend you to anyone wishing to sell gold. I was rather wary of selling my jewellery using the internet but it all went so easily and smoothly with such good telephone contact, that there were no worries at all.

With many thanks S Tucker

At a time when some online gold buyers are getting terrible reputations for poor service and low prices, it’s great to know there is one gold dealer you can always rely on: Post Gold Get Cash.

Who Can You Trust ?

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

With the sudden realisations that scrap Gold prices are at an all time historic high, its little wonder that there has been a sudden rush by the general public to hunt through draws or scour forgotten jewellery boxes for broken or out of date gold to turn into cash.

But where should you go?

In an attempt to answer this conundrum BBC Radio4 sent its presenter Martin Lewis for Money Box Live into a Gold factory.

They also set researcher Ruth Alexander the task of comparing high street jewellers and pawnbrokers with TV advertised Internet based companies to see how good the deals really are.

As part of her research she contacted POSTGOLDGETCASH, a company exhibiting exponential growth in the gold purchasing market and spoke candidly with the Managing Director, and head of Valuation Dept.

ALEXANDER: “I looked into ten of these websites. Some have online calculators; others gave me an estimate over the phone; but some insisted they don’t give out quotes without seeing your jewellery. So I got the prices for seven. Now bearing in mind the wholesale price of 9 carat gold is currently about £7 a gram, the prices offered by the websites range from £4 a gram to £6.65 – and that’s a big difference.”

PostGoldGetCash.co.uk “Our purchase price follows the wholesale price very closely. Taking into consideration our part of the trade operates in Kilograms of Gold not grams there will always be a small time lag between PostGold buying individual items and getting the gold into the smelt. Prices do fall as well as rise, and we have to take a daily view on the market. I would like to think taking out our minimum overhead costs and this time lag factor we offer prices near par value.”

LEWIS: Of course I suppose you can just go to the high street and sell your gold direct to a jeweller or a pawnbroker. Is that a safer way of doing it?

ALEXANDER: Well a qualified expert told us you should be able to get between £3.50 a gram and £5.50 a gram for 9 carat gold. Again a wide range of prices on the high street and less than the websites claim to offer.

PostGoldGetCash.co.uk. “Our business is merely using the Bet Fair principle of taking the middle man out of the equation and passing on the savings to the customer. We pay prices way above those typically offered by high streets shops because our overhead costs are insignificant.”

The truth is ,that if you feel safer with a face to face transaction then certainly you should take your items down to several high street stores, but you will almost certainly get less money for them over the counter, (may be as little as £3 per gram,) than by using a trusted Internet site.

www.postgoldgetcash.co.uk were one of the few internet gold sites happy to talk with the consumer champion Money Box Live, and were very happy to be quoted as one such trust worthy site.
